Marta Kourtessis is a multilingual world traveled idealist who has experienced life at numerous angles from beach bum surfer in Australia to entrepreneur and company director in the UK.
Having grown up in Canada and Europe she’s truly had the best of both worlds. As a daughter of a traveling mining engineer mother she had the opportunity to experience diverse cultures from a young age. Being exposed to various life styles, she’s seen the beauties but also the needs of both individuals and entire societies of various environments. This background brought her to discover her path, her calling to help resolve and improve lives through harmonious and aesthetic design.
She studied Industrial Design in Greece and after her second year she had advanced to a Product Design Technology course in Newcastle, UK. Here she acquired a knowledge of the engineering involved in the design process as well as marketing, sustainability and of course design.
Once completing University, Marta traveled the world to do what she loves most; explore, hike, snowboard and surf whilst working as a freelance designer. During her travels Marta had invented a surf board bag which turns into a tent. Not long after that, she and appeared with her tent (Wavecave) on Dragon’s Den in the UK and within a year she was overseeing the production in Indonesia as the company Director and Co-owner.
Her artistic talent and passion to learn has evolved her abilities and led her to experience different sectors in design. Her ability to swiftly learn software’s allowed her to successfully complete numerous graphic design projects from flyers to logos. As for her unique sketching capabilities, she held a position as an Interior Designer where she created illustrations of prospect designs and detailed drawings for both clients and constructional engineers.
